Let's do this. I want to thank everyone who will contribute financially towards our collective mission of seeing a National Paramedic Monument built at Dow's Lake in Ottawa. There are many reasons why this monument is important and paramedics and their families will want to see it happen for various reasons. For me, being medically retired from the job after 37 years of service in a large urban area, for me, I'm riding and I'm dedicating my efforts to celebrate and recognize the medics and dispatchers across Canada who served no matter how long but whose careers were sadly shortened due to sickness or injury. I want that not-as-yet-built monument to shine for those who loved the job but who didn't get to retire on their own terms.
